PREFACE EVS PLUS by Arrow Publications Pvt. Ltd. is a new series of

Environmental Studies textbooks for classes 1 to 5, designed as per
the guidelines of National Curriculum Framework – NCF–2023 and the
National Educational Policy (NEP, 2020), which lays a strong emphasis
on learning without stress.
The key features of the EVS PLUS series are fully integrated with the NEP 2020 objective. In order to support
learners' development, NEP 2020 proposed changing the assessment system. It also suggests moving away
from memorization towards competency-based learning through the use of 21st century skills like critical
thinking, creativity, communication, problem solving, experiential learning, life skills, ethics, wellness,
inspiration and social responsibility.
The series also emphasizes studying and integrating the core subjects: general awareness, language, math,
art, sports, storytelling, and Indian culture and heritage.
