He said to the crow, “Kaka,
I have heard you sing many
times. You have a sweet voice.
Can you sing a song for me
now?” Kaka was very pleased
to hear this. He held the
piece of bread between his
claws and opened his mouth
to sing. “Ka...Ka...Ka...Ka...,”
he sang a tune. The fox was
unhappy to see this. He said,
“Kaka, you sing very well. Can
you now dance for me?” Kaka
did not know how to dance.
But he wanted to please the
fox. So he put the piece of
bread in his beak and moved
his legs up and down. The fox
was not happy to see this. “I must make him drop the piece of bread,” he
said to himself. Then he said, “Kaka, you sing and dance well. But I don’t
think you can sing and dance at the same time.”
Kaka was not very happy to hear
this. He wanted to show that he
could sing and dance at the same
time. He forgot all about the piece
of bread. He sang, “Ka...Ka...Ka...
Ka...” and moved his legs up and
down. The piece of bread fell
down. The clever fox was very
