B. Direct and Indirect Speech
When we quote the words of the speaker, it is called direct speech.
When we report what the speaker has said by making certain changes, it is called indirect
speech or reported speech.
Examples :
He said, “I am hungry.” (Direct Speech)
He said that he was hungry. (Indirect Speech)
He said to me, “I am hungry.” (Direct Speech)
He told me that he was hungry. (Indirect Speech)
Change the following to indirect speech. Remember to make changes wherever necessary.
1. Minu said, “I am going out.”
