A. Use of ‘had + past participle form of verb
Had + past participle form of verb is used to say something happened before some
other action.
Example : The queen forgot all about the promise she had made to the little man.
Fill in the blanks wih the past participle form of verb. (Use had + past participle form of
verb)
1. After Ria had finished her work, she went to lunch. (finish)
2. I washed the floor after the painter __________________. (leave)
3. I __________________ him before he became famous. (meet)

B. Use of ‘in order to’
In order to +verb is used to express the purpose of something.
Combine the sentences using in order to. The first one is done for you.
1. We wanted to reach early. So we took a taxi.
In order to reach early, we took a taxi.
