          A.  Nouns - The Collective Noun
                A collective noun is the name of a number or collection of people or things taken together
              and spoken of as one whole.

              Example : crowd

                           It refers to a group of people.

              Put each of the following collective nouns in its correct place in the sentences below.
                bundle             class               school              flight             crew

                flock              gang                pack                fleet              swarm

              1.  She was attacked by a ________________ of bees.

              2.  The ________________ is writing a test.

              3.  Fishing boats use modern equipment to locate the ________________ of fish.
              4.  She carried the ________________ of sticks on her head.

              5.  The ________________ of robbers attacked the people travelling on the highway.

              6.  We saw a ________________ of ships in the harbour.
              7.  I can see a ________________ of birds in the sky.

              8.  She lost her balance and fell down a ________________ of stairs.

              9.  There were 150 passengers and a ________________ of 50 on the ship.

            10.  A group of dogs is called a ________________ .


          B.  Direct and Indirect Speech

              In direct speech we use the actual words of the speaker.
                In reported speech, we report what was said or asked but the actual words of the speaker
              are not used.

              Example:  “Do you know how to read and write?” the man asked Birju. (Direct Speech)

                            The  man asked  Birju  whether  /  if  he  knew  how  to  read  and  write.
                           (Indirect Speech)

              Now change the following sentences into reported speech.

              Remember to use whether / if and change the verbs in bold to past tense forms.
              1.  “Do you watch TV?” Sheela asked me.
