A. Using not only ... but also
Not only ... but also is a complex conjunction that joins two clauses or phrases, and denotes
that the second part is equally important as the first one. It is used to add an additional piece
of information that complements the first one.
Study the sentences below.
● He plays the guitar. He also sings beautifully.
He not only plays the guitar but also sings beautifully.
● The team won. The team also set a new record.
The team not only won but also set a new record.
