Changing ‘Wh’ questions from Direct to Indirect Speech
Study these examples.
● “What is your name?” he said to me.
He asked me what my name was.
● “Where do you live?” the boy said to the girl.
The boy asked the girl where she lived.
Questions that begin with ‘Wh’ words are reported by using asked + question word + the question
in normal word order, with the necessary tense change.
