at school.
Father: That’s nice. But do you know why we celebrate
Republic Day every year?
Son: I am not really sure, dad.
Father: Well, it was the day, the Constitution of India
came into force in the year 1950.
Son: What is the Constitution, dad?
Father: The Constitution is a rule book that contains the set of laws and principles by which the
country is governed.
Son: Oh! But who has made our Constitution, dad?
Father: It was made by several experts under the leadership of Dr. Ambedkar.
Son: Interesting, dad.
Father: The Constitution is the supreme law of India. So, we must, as citizens, respect our Constitution.
Son: Dad, does every country have its own Constitution?
Father: Yes, it does.
Son: Thank you, dad, Let me keep my white uniform and shoes ready for tomorrow.
Father: Carry on, dear.
