The most common fuels used in vehicles are petrol, diesel, coal, electricity and CNG.Fuels like coal, petrol and diesel give out harmful gases. They cause air pollution. Fuels like CNG and electricity do not cause air pollution.Traffic JamsSometimes, we see a large number of vehicles on the road that have stopped moving or are moving very slowly. This is called a traffic jam.In large cities and towns, there are traffic jams every day. It is because there are too many vehicles on the road at the same time.When there are so many vehicles, on the road, there is air pollution due to smoke. People stuck in a traffic jam honk the horn. This causes noise pollution.Ways to Reduce Air and Noise PollutionPollution is harmful to our health. We must try and reduce it as much as possible.Here are some ways:* We must use smaller vehicles like bikes to travel, rather than big cars or vans.* Using public transport like buses, local trains and metro trains can help to reduce pollution.* Walking or cycling short distances can reduce pollution. It can also save fuel.* Vehicles that run on CNG and electricity should be used.* Honking too much should be avoided.* Planting trees around our homes and on the two sides of roads help to make the air fresh and clean.?
