Arrow-Puffin-2_Semester-2 EVS 215* We see the sun in the sky during the day.* We see the moon and stars in the sky at night.* The sky appears different at different times of the day and in different seasons.* The sun with the eight planets moving around it is called the solar system.* Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are the eight planets of the solar system.* Days and nights are caused due to the movement of Earth on its own axis.We have day and night because the Earth is turning round and round on its own axis. It takes 24 hours for the Earth to turn all the way around itself. This makes one day and one night. The places on Earth that face the sun have day and the places on the other side of Earth have night. So, the next time you see the sky, you know it's an exciting place with lots of objects in it.The Solar SystemThe Earth we live on moves around the sun.
