                                    Arrow-Puffin-3_Semester-1 Maths 175Example 1 : Divide 248 by 2.%u2022 Arrange the numbers as shown.%u2022 Divide 2 hundred by 2. i.e. 2 x 1 = 2, 2 x 2 = 4 since 4 > 2. We take 2 x 1 = 2. Write 1 as quotient in the hundreds column. Write 2 below 2 and subtract 2 2 = 0. So we have 0 hundred left.%u2022 Bring down 4 tens. Now we have 4 tens i.e. 4 as dividend. Recite 2 table till 4 i.e. 2 x 2 = 4 or 4 + 2 = 2. Write 2 as quotient in tens place. Write 4 under 4 and subtract. So we have 0 ten left.%u2022 Bring down 8 ones. Now we have 8 ones. i.e. 8 as dividend. Recite 2 table till 8 i.e. 2 x 4 = 8. Write 4 as quotient in ones place. Write 8 below 8 and subtract. So we have 0 one left. Therefore, 248 + 2 = 124 H T O 1 2 42 2 4 82 0 4 4 0 8 8 0Example 2 : Divide 903 by 7. H T O 1 2 97 9 0 37 2 0 1 4 6 3 6 3 0DIVISION OF A 3 AND 4-DIGIT NUMBER BY A 1-DIGIT NUMBER(Without Remainder)%u2022 Arrange the numbers as shown.%u2022 Divide 9 hundreds by 7. i.e. 7 x 1 = 7, 7 x 2 = 14 since 14 > 9. We take 7 x 1 = 7. Write 1 as quotient in the hundreds column.Write 7 below 9 and subtract 9 7 = 2. So we have 2 hundreds left.%u2022 Bring down 0 ten. Now we have 2 tens and 0 one i.e. 20 as dividend. Recite 7 table till 20 i.e. 7 x 2 = 14 or 14 + 7 = 2. Write 2 as quotient in tens place. Write 14 below 20 and subtract. We have 6 tens left.%u2022 Bring down 3 ones. Now we have 6 tens and 3 ones i.e. 63 as dividend. Recite 7 table till 63 i.e. 7 x 9 = 63. Write 9 as quotient in ones place. Write 63 below and subtract. Now we have 0 one left. Therefore, 903 + 7 = 129Let's Understand Conceptual Understanding
