“Come on, be quick.
We will now go to see some birds,”
says the teacher.
The children are watching the birds.
“See, how colourful they look! And how sweetly
they chirp!”
“But where are the
peacocks?” asks Kamal.
“I’ll show you. Come here,” the teacher says.
“They have such lovely feathers, don’t they?”
“I want to see them dance,” says Amit.
Ha! Ha! They will dance when they want to.
Not when you want them to.
“Let’s move on,” says the teacher.
It is 12 o’clock. It is lunch time.
All the children are opening their
lunch boxes.
Amar has brought parathas.
Tinnu has brought noodles.
Rohit has some sandwiches
and some gulab jamuns. Anu
has brought fried rice. The teacher has brought a big fruit cake for all the
children.
“Come on, Akash. Let’s have lunch. We are waiting for you,” says Neha.
“Aren’t you hungry? Come and join us,” says the teacher.
