Mona got up quickly and took a shower. Anu and Prem came in. The children had
their breakfast and got ready. Uncle Pai arrived in his car.
Prem sat in the front with Uncle Pai. Mona and
Anu sat in the back. Their dog, Snoopy also
sat in the back.
Uncle Pai drove up the long,
steep road. The sun was
shining. Before long,
the children wanted
something to eat.
“Uncle, can we have
something to eat?”
said Anu.
“All right. Do you want to stop
for some ice-cream on the way?” asked
Uncle Pai.
The children were delighted. The car stopped at an ice-cream parlour. The children
got out and bought ice-creams.
Why does Uncle Pai give
“We shall soon be at the beach,” said Uncle Pai. “You can have money to the children?
a ride on a pony first.”
When they reached the beach, Uncle Pai parked his car. They all got out. Uncle Pai
gave the children some money. They
ran to the man looking after the
ponies and gave him some
money. Anu rode a white
pony. Mona rode a
grey one. And Prem
rode a black one.
After an hour,
they were back.
