Invitations
Here are some expressions we use to invite someone, or accept and refuse an invitation.
Inviting
• Would you like to join us?
• I’d very much like you to join us.
• How about joining us?
• You will come, won’t you?
• Are you free now? Please join us.
Accepting
• I’d love to Thank you very much.
• I’d be glad.
• With pleasure.
• That’s very kind of you.
• What a lovely idea!
Refusing
• I am sorry, but I can’t join you.
• Thanks for asking me, but I am sorry I cannot come.
• I’d like to, but I have a test tomorrow.
• Unfortunately, I can’t join you.
• Thank you, but I am not sure I can.
