“I have got a stomach ache, ma’am,” Chandu said holding back his tears.

“Would you like to go to the sick room?” the teacher asked.

“I want to go home, ma’am,” Chandu said.

Soon Chandu’s mother was there at the school. She took him to their family doctor.

“What’s the problem?” Doctor Verma asked Chandu. “I have got a stomach ache,”
          said Chandu.

Doctor Verma told Chandu to lie down on the couch. He examined him and then said,

“Well, it looks like a severe infection in the stomach. But what has he been eating?”

“The regular rice, roti, dal and vegetables,” his mother replied. “Oh I see! But he is

suffering from indigestion,” the doctor said.

“You need to get a few tests done. I’ll prescribe some medicines. And keep a watch on

          his diet,” said the doctor.

Chandu’s mother seemed worried. She wondered how it had happened. But Chandu

knew it all and he followed the diet carefully and took his medicines regularly. Two
days later, Chandu and his mother went to the doctor with the reports.

“Everything seems okay. But be careful about what you eat. You’re a growing boy. So
eat lots of vegetables and fruits and of course drink at least two glasses of milk. You

must not eat junk food. It’ll do you no good!” the doctor said. Chandu came home and

lay on his bed thinking. “Daddy and mummy were right after all,” he thought.

That night he had a dream again. The fairy came to him and said, “Chandu, what do
          you have to say now?”

“I want to have only homemade food. Nothing else. Please help me,” he said.

“Good. Now close your eyes and make a wish again,” said the kind fairy.

“I am going to eat healthy food, and no junk food hereafter,” he said.

The next day, Chandu ate all that was served and drank the milk without a fuss. At
school he opened his lunch box and ate his rice, dal and vegetables.

And his lunch seemed so tasty. And it was healthy too. What did the doctor

                                                                                             advise Chandu?
