The next thing you could do is to shop wisely. Many children discard all the old pencils,

pencil cases, notebooks, bags, lunch boxes, uniforms and shoes at the end of each year
and buy all new supplies. Just because they are old doesn’t mean, they don’t work any

more. You can give away things like shoes, uniforms, clothing or things you think you
cannot use to someone who needs it rather than littering them all over the place and

buying more. So, the next time you want to buy something, ask yourself if you really
          need it.

           What can you do
           to conserve water
           according to the text?

Be creative when wrapping gifts. Instead of expensive gift wraps, cover the gifts with
comics or magazine pages. Save and re-use decorative ribbons and bows.

When you go to the supermarket with your mummy, carry cloth bags. Say ‘no’ to plastic

bags. And last, but not the least, plant trees. There is a well-known slogan “Each one,
plant one.” So go ahead and do your bit to make this Earth clean and green.

Read this poem about our beautiful Earth.

Our Earth is a source of joy,

                 And a place to enjoy,
For every little girl and boy,

It is time to be aware,
That all its beauty we must share,

                 With all the future children,

Who want to laugh, play and run,

Around the trees and fields and have fun.
