A. Use of Connectors
Connectors are words used for connecting ideas to create a grammatical and logical sentence.
Most connectors are conjunctions. The common connectors are: and, hence, but, however, thus,
while, so, therefore, because and when.
Now fill in the blanks with suitable connectors.
1. The Prime Minister was attending the conference; ______________ all the extra security.
2. Between 1914 ______________ 1920 large parts of Albania were occupied by the Italians.
3. The performance was good ______________ the sound quality was poor.
4. I got there late ______________ I missed the first part of the programme.

B. Use of ‘having’ to combine the sentences
