Conversation Skills
Practise this conversation with your partner.
Bhanu: Hey! Tomorrow, we are celebrating ‘Tree
Plantation Day’ at school. It’s called
‘Vanmahotsav’.
Ketan: What’s that?
Bhanu: It’s a day, we plant saplings.
Ketan: Oh I see! But why do you have to plant saplings?
Bhanu: Come on, Ketan. It’s strange that you are not
aware of the importance of trees. Trees give us
everything we need. They give us food, shade, fresh air and even bring timely rains. Only
by planting trees, we can make our Earth clean and green.
Ketan: Yes, but I see many people cutting down trees.
Bhanu: True. If we cut down trees indiscriminately, the Earth will one day turn into a desert. The
temperature will rise and it will cause climate change.
Ketan: I didn’t think of all this. I realize why it’s important to plant trees. I will also plant a
sapling tomorrow.
Bhanu: Great! Each one, plant one!
