Human body – A wonderful machine

Our home is full of different kinds of machines, such as a television,

refrigerator, mixer-grinder, microwave oven, washing machine, laptop and

so on. They work a lot. Similarly, our body is a living machine that does a

variety of work.

Human body and its structure

Do you know how a house is built? It is built with bricks, the smallest unit
of a house. A wall is formed when many bricks are placed together. Four

walls and the roof make a room. Rooms create a floor, and different floors

together form a house.

Similarly, our body is made up of a large number of tiny units called cells.

The same type of cells join together to form a tissue. An organ is formed by
joining many tissues.

Several organs work together to perform specific functions such as breathing,
eating, playing, working, and many other things.
