The digested food next passes into the small intestine, where the nutrients
are absorbed by the blood and transported throughout the body.
The undigested food passes through the large intestine, stay there for some
time and goes out of the body through the anus as faeces.
The Excretory System
The system through which our body waste is removed is
called the excretory system. The excretory system consists
of a pair of kidneys, a pair of lungs and the skin.
Kidneys remove waste from the blood in the form of urine.
Skin removes waste in the form of sweat. Lungs remove
carbon dioxide from our body when we breathe out.
