Land Transport

          Land transport is used by people to move from one place to another over

          land. In cities and towns, people use rickshaws, scooters, buses, cars, trains,

          trucks etc. These  vehicles’ engines  run on diesel,  petrol, or compressed

          natural gas (CNG).

          Trains are the fastest and largest
          means of land transport.

          There are  metro  rails in Delhi,

          Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru,

          are the fastest means of transport within a city.
          Land transport is well-connected throughout the country. Some villages

          still use carts to transport people and goods.

          Tractors are also used as a means of transport in villages.

          People living in hilly areas use yaks, horses and mules for transport. Camels

          are used to transport people and goods in deserts. Elephants are used to

          move logs of wood with their trunks.

          Water Transport

          Water transport is used to move people and goods over water bodies such

          as lakes, rivers, canals, seas and oceans. People use boats to cross lakes and

          rivers.

          Steamers and motorboats are also other means of water transport. Ships
          are used to transport goods from one country to another. Submarines are

          warships that move underwater.
