Did You Mosses are unique non-flowering plants with no roots to
Know? hold them to the ground. They grow as a mat of threads
across damp surfaces, and depend on spores dispersal for
                     reproduction.

          The Root System

Roots grow below the ground inside the soil. All plants have roots. But not

all the roots are of the same type. Roots are of two types - taproots and
          fibrous roots.

A taproot is a long main root that produces several thin, tiny

roots. Plants such as neem, mango, carrot, and rose have a

main root from which smaller roots develop.

                                                                                                           Taproot

A fibrous root is a bushy bunch of roots that grows from the

end of a stem. Fibrous roots don’t have a main root. Plants
such as rice, wheat, onion and grass have a bunch of roots

                               that grow from the stem.
