3.                  Sense Organs














          All of us  have heard of the five senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch.

          Our eyes see, our ears hear, our nose smells, our tongue tastes, and we feel /

          touch with our skin. So, we have five sense organs: eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and

          skin. These organs enable us to sense our surroundings.

          Eyes

          We see a lot of things around us from the time we get up in the morning until we
          go to bed at night. Our eyes help us see the world around us.


          Parts of the Eye

          The front portion of the eye is made up of the iris, cornea, pupil, and sclera.


          The iris is the coloured part of the eye. It controls

          the amount of light that enters our eyes.                               sclera

          The cornea is a clear layer on the front of the eye. It

          The pupil is the black circular opening in the iris
          that lets light in. The iris muscles control the size of                  iris

          The sclera is the white portion of your eye formed
