            A.  Use of ‘Wh’ words


                Questions are sentences which ask for information.
                We use some Wh words to make questions. They are:

                  what, why, when, where, which, whose, who, whom, how old, how many, how much,

                how far, how often


              What - to know names, time, things, what people are doing, etc.

              e.g. :    What is your name?
                        What is the time?

                        What is Ram doing?

              Who -  to know the person or to know the doer.

              e.g. :    Who is this man?
                        Who broke this?

              Which -  to show / talk about choice.

              e.g. :     Which colour do you like - blue or green?

                         Which is your shirt - this or that?
              When -  to know about the time of an action.

              e.g. :     When are you going?

                         When is your exam?

              Where - to know place, position or direction.
              e.g. :     Where are you going?

                         Where is your house?

              Why -  to know the reason for something.

              e.g. :     Why are you late?
                         Why is she crying?

              How -  to know the method, to describe something.

              e.g. :     How did you make this?

                         How are you feeling now?

                         How is the weather?
