B. Unfulfilled Conditionals
Read the sentence below.
Dastagir’s quick decision saved the lives of thousands of people who would have died had
they been exposed to the gas for a little longer.
It means : The people didn’t die because they were not exposed to the gas for too long.
This sentence is a conditional sentence which talks about a possibility in the past that was
unfulfilled due to some reason or condition.
More examples:
• She would have passed had she worked hard.
• Had he been careful, he would not have met with the accident.
Now rewrite the sentences as shown.
