[Wasserkopf enters, without waiting to be shown in.]

Wasserkopf : I don’t give a damn for the lot of you. My being gentlemanly isn’t

going to be possible, and give me my money. Everything else is just
damned nonsense.

Principal : The examination will begin. History first.

History Teacher : Answer this question. How long did the Thirty Years’ War last?

Wasserkopf : Thirto ... I mean to say, I don’t know.

History Teacher : Please answer my question. I am sure you know.

Wasserhopf : I know! Exactly seven metres.
