                                    134 Arrow-Puffin-3_Semester-1 MathsMaths Lab Activity Experimental LearningObjective : To help students understand and practise the addition and subtraction of 4- digit numbers.Materials required :* Base-10 blocks (1 block = 1000, 1 strip = 100, 1 rod = 10, 1 unit = 1)* Whiteboard or chart paper* Markers* Worksheets with 4-digit addition and subtraction problems* Pencils* ErasersProcedure:Step 1: Introduce the Concept- Begin by discussing the importance of adding and subtracting 4-digit numbers in everyday life, such as calculating distances, weights, or money.- Review the process of addition and subtraction with regrouping, including how to carry and borrow.Step 2: Group Activity- Divide the students into small groups and provide each group with a set of Base-10 blocks.- Assign each group a 4-digit addition and subtraction problem from the worksheet. Encourage the students to use the blocks to solve the problems as a team.- Circulate among the groups, offering guidance and answering questions as needed.Step 3: Individual Practice- Distribute the worksheets to the students for individual practice. Ask them to solve the problems using pencil and paper, following the same steps they used with the Base-10 blocks.- Encourage students to check their answers using the blocks if they are unsure.
