TAKING CARE OF YOUR TEETHYour teeth will last a lifetime if you take good care of them.%u2022 Learn to brush your teeth, the right way. Move the toothbrush in little circles, around and around until you have covered the surface of every tooth. Brush your teeth up and down, rather than side to side. And remember to brush them, not just in the morning but before going to bed as well.%u2022 Wash and rinse your mouth after every meal. You can use a dental floss to clean between your teeth. This removes food and plaque (the sticky substance that can cause cavities or gum disease) that get stuck in between your teeth.%u2022 You can use a tongue cleaner to clean your tongue. But be careful not to hurt the tongue. Cleaning the tongue can make your breath feel fresh.%u2022 Cut down on sugary foods like chocolates, sweets and candies, and drinks such as soda. Sugars react with bacteria in your mouth to form an acid that causes tooth decay.%u2022 Drink at least two glasses of milk and include eggs, fruits and leafy vegetables in your diet to keep your teeth strong and healthy.%u2022 Visit a dentist at least once a year for a check up.
