PERMANENT TEETHYour milk teeth fall out because they are being pushed out of the way by the permanent teeththat grow behind them. Slowly, the permanent teeth grow in and take the place of the milk teeth. By the age of 12 or 13 year, most of you would have lost all your milk teeth and have a full set of permanent teeth.enameldentingum pulpstructure of a toothmolarspremolarscanineincisors caninepremolarsmolarstypes of teethpermanent teethThere are 28 permanent teeth in all. What do you see?The part of the tooth you can see, which is not covered by the gum is called the crown. The crown of each tooth is covered with enamel. It is a very tough substance and it protects the inner parts of the tooth. The part beneath the enamel is called dentin. It is a hard substance that makes up the largest part of the tooth. It protects the innermost part of the tooth, called the pulp. The pulp is where there are nerve endings and blood vessels. The nerve endings inside the pulp send messages to the brain about what you are eating. The blood vessels supply blood to the tooth to keep it alive and healthy.Arrow-Puffin-4_Semester-1 Science 275Why do we have milk teeth and permanent teeth?CheckpointWhich part of the tooth is covered with enamel?Checkpoint
