All living things communicate in some way or the other. Communication

          can be verbal (oral), non-verbal, visual and written.


          Humans, animals and birds all make
          sounds in verbal  communication.

          Humans speak, birds sing and chirp,

          insects buzz and dogs bark.  People

          communicate  in a variety of  ways,

          such as storytelling and music.
                                                                                  Verbal communication



                                     Many people express their feelings  without  speaking.

                                     Non-verbal communication refers to communication

                                     that takes place without speaking. A delicate touch, an

                                     angry expression or a hard push all convey a message.

          People who cannot talk or hear communicate

          their thoughts, ideas and feelings through sign
          language.



                                                                                     People using sign language

          Some people can speak, but they communicate without speaking. Mime

          artists and dancers express their feelings through facial expressions and

          hand movements.


          Visual communication is expressed
          through drawings, designs, television,

          cinema, drama and dance.
