Sense of Hearing

We hear with our ears. Hearing is the sense of sound

sensitivity. It is also known as the auditory sense. Our ears
help us to hear many sounds – like the honking of a car, the

tinkling of a bell etc. Ears

The inability to hear is called deafness. Loud sounds are harmful to our

          ears.

                              Sense of Smell

We smell things with our nose. There are hundreds of
smell receptors in the nose. The receptors are responsible

for different kinds of smell. A smell could be pleasant or

                 Nose unpleasant.

          Sense of Taste

We taste the food we eat with our tongue. It not only helps
in tasting the food but also helps us to speak. We have four

types of taste buds or receptors on the tongue – sweet,

salty, sour and bitter. These taste buds convey information

          to the brain. Tongue
