3. Our Senses

Living things are capable of sensing and responding to environmental

changes. Animals and humans have special organs that enable them to feel

and understand their surroundings. These are known as sense organs or

          our senses.

                    Eye Ear Nose Tongue Skin

                                                        Sense Organs

The sense organs collect messages from the environment and convey them

to the brain. The brain processes, interprets and instructs our body on how

to respond in the given situations.

So, we can say that our sense organs provide

information about the world around us. They
make us enjoy various things – the taste of food,

the sound of music, the beauty of a sunny day,

the fragrance of a flower etc.
