Things that do not have life are called non-living things. Examples are all
man-made things and some natural things like rivers, sand, soil, etc.

Living things are different from non-living things in many ways.

          Living things move

All living things move. Animals move
from one place to another to find food

and shelter. Animals, birds and insects

move in different ways. They walk, run,

          fly, jump or crawl.

Plants do not move like animals as they do not

have to search for food. They make their food, but
their branches, leaves, and flowers move towards

the light and their roots grow towards the source

                                           of water.

Human beings have a pair of legs to

          walk, run, jump and skip.

Answer Plants are living things, but
                      they do not move. Why?

Non-living things do not move. For example, a car does not move unless

          we drive it.
