Pilots use a compass to navigate.  Captains on ships and  forest rangers in

          forests both use compass to find directions.

          A compass can be used to keep track of time as

          well as distance and direction.


          In olden days, before the compass was invented,
          travellers depended on the movement of the Sun

          to know the time of the day and the direction in

          which they were travelling.                                                 Pilots use a compass to navigate
