19. Natural Resources

We see a variety of things when we look around us. Some are man-made and

some are natural.

Air, water, sunlight, soil, clouds, birds, plants, animals, etc., are natural things

that are very useful to us. We cannot live without them.

Natural things

Air, water, sunlight and minerals help the plants to grow in soil. Life cannot

exist without plants as they provide us with food. These natural things are

valuable gifts of nature for us. These are available to us free of cost.

Most of the man-made things are also made of natural things. The natural

things which are very useful to us are called natural resources. Natural

resources are an important part of our lives. They support not only human life

but also all other living beings.

Types of Natural Resources
