Nesting Habits
Birds build nests to live. They use different materials like grass, twigs, leaves,
feathers, thread, cotton, wool, pebbles etc. to build their nests.
Birds lay eggs in the nests. After laying eggs the parent
bird sits on the eggs to give them heat of her body. This is
called brooding. It helps the baby birds to grow fast and
come out of the egg.
Birds feed and protect their babies. Baby birds stay in the
nest until they can fly.
