8. More about Birds
Beaks
Birds have no teeth. They cannot chew their food. They have beaks to catch
and eat food. Different birds eat different types of foods like fruits, grains, nuts,
seeds, insects, worms, nectar, fish, meat and vegetables. The size and shape of
their beak suits with the type of food they eat.
Birds that eat flesh have strong, sharp and hooked
beaks. These beaks help them tear the flesh. Eagles
and vultures have such beaks.
