Boiling: It helps to kill the germs in it. Boiling preserves
food for a short period. We boil milk to preserve it.
Salting: We can add salt to food
items to preserve them, as in pickles.

Sweetening: Adding an excess amount of sugar

Drying: This method is used to reduce the water
content in the food. Since germs cannot grow without water, the food does
not get spoiled. Food items are sun-dried to reduce the growth of germs. Food
