Make me a smart cloak”. He called his tailors every day and said, “Make me some new
shirts right away.”
“Oh, how I love to dress in new things!” he said to himself. Indeed, he spent so many
hours every day in his dressing room trying out new clothes that he had very little
time to attend to the affairs of his kingdom.
One day, two men came to the palace. They bowed to the emperor and said,
“Your Majesty! We have come from a far away land. We have heard about your liking
for new clothes. We have something new to offer.”
“What is it?” asked Emperor Swank.
“We know how to weave the finest cloth,” said the first man.
“We can sew it into the finest clothes that you have ever worn,” said the second man.
“You will look better than you have ever looked before,” said the two men together.
“Hmm.... All this sounds very interesting,” said the emperor.
“But Emperor Swank,” one of them said. “The cloth we are going to make is magic
cloth. It will be so fine that only clever people can see it.”
“Stupid or silly people can see nothing at all,” the other man said.
