All the people in the kingdom lined up in the streets to see the emperor’s new clothes.
          They thought that the emperor looked funny with no clothes on, but they all pretended

          that they could see the clothes made of gold thread. “It is beautiful!” ,they cheered and
          clapped for the emperor. But there was one little boy in the crowd who had not heard

          anything about the magic suit. The little boy stared at the emperor and shouted, “The

          emperor isn’t wearing any clothes. He is naked!” All at once everyone began to nod and
          then began to laugh. “The little boy is right. The emperor has no clothes on,” they all said.

          The emperor rode on pretending not to understand but he felt more foolish than he

          ever did in his life. And the two cheats of course had run away with all the money

          never to return again to that land.
