The position in which we sit, stand or walk is called posture. Good posture
maintains the shape of our
muscles and bones. We should
keep our back and shoulders
straight while sitting. A good
posture also helps to breathe
properly.

Proper Rest and Sound Sleep
We all need to rest after a long day of activities.
Apart from food, air and water, our body also
needs rest and sleep for our survival. Sound
sleep helps in the repair and rejuvenation of
the body and mind. During sleep, our brain
organises, solves, and stores information.
Did You Children aged 5 to 12 years need 10 to 11 hours of sleep each night. Getting
Know? enough sleep is also essential for a child’s health, as it boosts the immune system
and lowers the chance of infection and illness. When some children go to bed,
they go immediately into deep sleep. Others sleep softly, shifting and murmuring
for up to 20 minutes before falling asleep deeply.

Safety is important for us. We must take care of ourselves as well as everyone
around us. We need to prevent accidents and injuries. We must also take
care of our mother Earth.
Children might get injured at home, school or on the road. We can stay safe
and prevent accidents and avoid injuries by following safety rules.
