Have you ever noticed people selling colourful ceramic pots and clay pots
on the footpaths while going out with your parents?

What are the different things they sell?

Name a few things made of ceramic or clay you use at home.

Visit a nearby potter and collect some leftover clay. Put this clay in a bucket
of water enough to cover it. When the clay softens, use it and create different

objects out of it. Colour these objects and display them in your class. You
can also use the play dough.

We are all aware of the harmful effects of land pollution.

Waste made of fruits and vegetables, paper, and plastic
bags break down quickly, whereas diapers, milk cartons,
bottles, aluminium cans, and plastic bags take thousands

of years to break down. Also, governments are promoting
the recycling and reuse of these products. It is also our
duty as responsible citizens to save and protect the environment.

The Rock Garden of Chandigarh is built using waste material. It was built
out of waste materials as well as various objects like broken pipes, electrical
waste, bottles, glasses, bangles, tiles, and ceramic pots.

            Life Skills and Values

Recycled art gives items a second life after they have served their original
purpose. Reducing waste, conserving resources, and avoiding pollution are
some of the key benefits of using recycled materials for creative projects.

Finding inexpensive or free items that you can reuse into something new
and lovely will also help you save money.

Name a few things that you have recycled or reused at home.
