Out Can we drink sea water? Why/ Why not?
These are filled with rainwater during the rainy season. During the
summer, the snow on the mountain melts and pours into the rivers. So,
the rivers contain water throughout the year.
Rain water seeps into the soil and collects underground. This is called
underground water. When this
underground water rises to
the surface, lakes are formed.
Water in lakes, ponds and
rivers is called surface water.
This water can be drawn out
through wells, handpumps and
tube wells.
