             Dried  palm  leaves  were  a  common  writing  surface  in  ancient  times.
             These leaves were used to write manuscripts, texts, and literature. This

             was especially prevalent in India, Sri Lanka, Southeast
             Asia, and certain portions of the Middle East. Many

             cultures used palm leaves to preserve Vedas, Puranas,
             and Buddhist scriptures.
