Functions of Societies/Clubs
Societies or clubs are formed to bring people together for a common cause.
They support the spread of awareness about problems like environmental
preservation.
Clubs organize many interesting cultural activities and blood donation camps
for their members.
What is Residents Welfare Association (RWA)?
There are committee members in every colony in a city or town who look after
the welfare of its residents. Such committees
are known as Residents Welfare Associations.
Residents choose the members of such a
committee. The committee’s head is selected
from among its members.
What are the functions of RWA? RWA
Ensuring the general well-being of a colony’s residents is the primary function
of the RWA.
Other functions of RWA are:
Encouraging the construction of roads, drainage
systems, street lighting, and other development
projects inside the colony.
Ensuring proper disposal of waste and regular
cleaning of the community’s sewage pipes.
Taking proper safety and security measures for the colony.
Maintaining the colony’s parks and other open
areas.
Spreading awareness about health, cleanliness
and the environment among the residents.
Organising social functions, fests and melas to
celebrate events and festivals together.
