Clothes
We wear clothes to cover our body and protect ourselves from dust, heat, rain,
cold and insect bites. They also make us look smart and confident.
Our country is a land of diversity and people of different cultures live here.
Clothes have special importance in our country. They reflect our tradition and
culture. People from different places wear different kinds of clothes. Our culture,
our location, and the weather all have an impact on what we wear.
Clothing brings colour and vibrancy to any event, from
religious festivals and weddings to dance performances and
social gatherings. We can see people wearing unique and
beautiful clothes made from locally available materials in
different parts of our country.
In Rajasthan, women wear vibrant and colourful ghaghra
with katchli and men wear angarakha with a colourful
turban.
In Assam, women wear elegant mekhala chadors and men wear a dhoti and a
gamosa.
