Bridges

Anything that joins two

far-off things or places is

called a bridge. A bridge

connects the gap between

two pieces of land that

are divided by a valley, an
active road, a railway line,

or a water body. Bridges

are built to carry people,

vehicles, and goods from

one side to another.

People have been building bridges out of bamboo
sticks, fallen tree trunks, etc. to cross difficult

areas of land or water. Some villages and hilly

areas still have bamboo and rope bridges even

now. They construct their traditional bridges,

with ropes, bamboo, and wood logs.
